A warm yet colorful lap quilt or wallhanging. Perfect as a house warming gift or on display in your favorite room. Each house is meticulously crafed on White on White cotton fabric giving a crisp clean look. First the roof is machine appliqued with a Black buttonhole stitch. Then with Black pearl cotton I have painstakngly hand embroidered the frame of the house and clouds with a stem stitch and then added matching daisy stitch flowers.
There are 25 adorable houses alternating in coordinating shades of Blue then Red with the center house a combination fabric of Blue and Red. The quilt measures 47" x 57".
I have added Red rick rack for a touch of whimsey then a border of alternating Red then Blue applique flowers. Each corner flower is the combination Red and Blue fabric matching the center house and providing balance.
Topping this magnificent quilt off is Blue piping and a double binding which is tacked down by hand and has mitered corners.
The entire quilt was machine quilted in a free form design flowing around the billowing smoke and the puffy clouds of each house. A whimsical touch of bumble bees, dragonflys and butterflys has been machine quilted around the border flower as if they were smelling them.
A lot of LOVE, time and attention to detail went into creating this one of a kind quilt. Hopefully you will love it just as much.
I have added a sleeve for hanging and cotton batting was used.
